With the start of the New Year we're off and running!!  Donations have been coming in and  people have been donating their time and talents to make the New Windsor Cabinetmaking Shop a reality.

If all goes according to plan (which more than one person has told me is a bit optimistic) we will be meeting & greeting, with great merriment, all of our visitors at the new shop during our grand opening at the Colonial Times "A Day to Remember" event October 15-16, 2011.  This will be the perfect time for the Cabinetmakers shop to debut as the Olde Towne Preservation Association will be celebrating our 20th anniversary of the Colonial Times "A Day to Remember" event!

And remember, the shop is only the beginning.  There will numerous opportunities to get involved in helping support the shop as it grows.  We will need benches and tools, as well as furniture items and example pieces to seed the ware room and shop.  We'll also have opportunities for volunteers to become involved with demonstrating a whole host of colonial wood trade skills as we begin to develop the programming for the shop.  So, if you are an experienced woodworker or if you just desire to learn 18th century woodworking skills, the New Windsor Cabinetmaker's shop is the place to be.

So, follow along with us online via this blog as the shop takes shape on the hillside of the North Augusta Living History Park and join in with your questions, comments, and ideas.
