"Huzzah" is an old English expression of achievement or joy that was in common use in Colonial times.   It seems quite fitting to convey my excitement and appreciation for the outpouring of financial and in-kind support that has been given or pledged to the construction of the New Windsor Cabinetmaker's Shop with a resounding Wahoo and Huzzah!

It has been especially gratifying to see the diversity of the sources of the donations.  The Zippler, Schleier (thanks Mom & Dad) and White families all made significant cash donations during the annual Olde Towne Preservation Association member dinner this past December 2010 and at the Gaming night in January 2011.  Since fundraising efforts commenced in October of 2009, honorarium donations have been received  from The Woodworker's Guild of Georgia, The North Georgia State Fair Flower Show and A. Brian Merry Elementary School in Augusta, GA.  In April 2010, Colonial Chair Company hosted a Windsor Chairmaking class in the Barn at the park and donated all proceeds to the New Windsor Cabinet Shop construction fund.  Several other individuals have come forward to make cash donations. Lastly, we have pledges for numerous local Augusta/North Augusta businesses to contribute significant materials, services, or labor towards the completion of the shop.

All-in-all, people are coming together across South Carolina and Georgia on many levels and in many ways to build momentum towards completing the Shop structure.  Hip Hip Huzzah!!!
